Private transactions, but still tax auditable?
Maybe each transaction has a tax code specifying the type of transaction it is, and then the govt can be given a verifiable sum of each tax code at the end of each tax year.
Businesses would have fully transparent transaction logs to the govt, and would be the ones who set the tax codes on transactions, so govt can verify correct tax codes are being set.
